Curriculum Highlights: The language curriculum is both intensive and comprehensive. Instruction will put emphasis on increasing accuracy and fluency. The program features 20 hours of language instruction per week, with small classes. One-on-one instruction for improving intonation, accuracy, and grammar structures is provided each day of the program. Six different evening programs will introduce students to the work of six Chinese non-profits and other organizations. These programs will provide students a strong understanding of the developing Chinese non-profit sector. At the same time, students will be able to participate in a variety of projects and volunteer opportunities with the local organizations.
课程特色：LSP（成都）汉语学习暨社区服务项目课程提供具体、深入、细致、全面的汉语教学，旨在提高学生汉语表达的准确性和流畅性。全程实行小班教学，每周授课20小时，每天都有专业老师进行一对一指导练习，帮助学生掌握中文语法、改善语音语调，学会地道表达。此外，六个晚间项目将带领学生了解中国社区公益组织及其他慈善机构，让学生对中国正在兴起的社区公益组织及活动有深刻理解，学生有机会担任志愿者，亲自参与到当地组织丰富多彩的公益活动中，从而灵活运用所学习的中文了解本土文化。
Overview: The LSP Chengdu program has two goals:
(1) Significantly improve student’s fluency in Chinese through intensive instruction and enriching cultural activities.
Allow students to learn about and participate in the work local Chinese organizations are conducting to improve their communities.

（1）通过强化教学和丰富的文化活动，大幅提升学生的中文流利程度。
（2）让学生了解和参与中国当地公益组织为改善社区而进行的工作和活动。
Setting Description:
City: The program is located in Chengdu, capital of the Sichuan province and one of the most important cities in West China. Proclaimed the “leisure capital of China,” Chengdu is one of the most laid back and fun loving cities in the nation. It was recently named the most livable city in China by Forbes Magazine. Chengdu is also home to one of the most vibrant communities of local charities and non-profit organizations in China. An optimal base for further travel in China, Chengdu is located only a bus ride away from the Tibetan Plateau and many other areas of great natural beauty.

Host University: The program is hosted by Sichuan University. Sichuan University is one of the oldest universities in China, with a history dating back to 1896. Today it is the largest and most prestigious university in West China.

Meals and Accommodation:
Accommodation: Accommodation from Dec. 26- Jan. 8 will be provided. Two students will be assigned per room at a 3-star hotel located on the campus of Sichuan University. A single room can be arranged for an additional cost.
Meals: Students will largely need to budget for their own meals. A mid-range meal at a restaurant near Sichuan University typically costs $4-5. LSP arranges ‘conversation lunches’ twice per week. The program includes the cost of these meals, where students eat with their teachers and converse in Chinese.

住宿：项目为学生提供12月26日 至 1月8日期间的三星级酒店住宿，酒店位于四川大学校园内，每间客房分配两名学生。学生若需安排单间，需支付额外费用。
饮食：学生自己负责饮食花销。在四川大学附近的中档餐厅的一餐花费约为4-5美金。

Program Value: The program provides an excellent opportunity to increase Chinese fluency while learning about the role of local non-profit organizations in China. The program will provide an introduction to a fascinating and rapidly developing segment of Chinese civil society—a part of China that is difficult to discover otherwise. The program will also provide opportunities to exchange with Chinese community leaders and actively participate in their work.

Program Cost: $1350. The cost is partially subsidized by Chinese community institutions. Includes course fees, books, accommodation, evening activities, insurance, 24-hour support in China, pre-departure support from LSP staff, and two ‘conversation lunches’ per week.
项目收费：中国社区机构给予本项目极大的赞助，因此本项目对美国在读学生的特惠价格为1350美金。费用包含：学费，书籍，住宿，夜间活动，保险，中国24小时支持，出发前LSP工作人员的支持，以及每周两次“会话午餐”餐费。
